Only when you wear glasses can you see the world through doggie kisses.

All of our canine companions are found or pound animals. Only Sheba is not a real rescue... well... She came from a neighbor who was going to drown the puppies they could not get rid of.... so I guess that's where a saga of rescue started. At first we said "no more than two dogs." Then there was room for a third dog, but no more!... Well... what were we supposed to do with the fourth, who was almost blind? Take her to the pound? There were some others inbetween, but they are no longer with us. Then the fifth one walked into our lives during the holidays - she was lonely and skinny. The sixth one I found was supposed to go to the no kill shelter after we put some meat on his bones and had given him all the needed shots - or we were going to find a good home for him on our own, which we did in the end - by the second day: Our own. But now the house is too small for us humans, and the city demands a kennel license at 7 dogs and up, so six is our limit, SERIOUSLY!

SHEBA
(RIP, Dec. 26, 2005)
came to us in Spring of 1990. She was born sometime in February that year. Her mom was a neighbor's boxer. Sheba is all heart and soul, just a bit short in the smarts department. She will lay down her life to protect her humans, as she proved to us several times when people jumped our privacy fence as a shortcut.
